Meet the Administration Team

Since 2019, Lisa Willman has been the proud principal of Zimmerman Elementary, a Pre-K to 2nd grade building. She loves coming to work every day to collaborate with and support the staff who educate, inspire, and empower the youngest learners in the Zimmerman area.  

Before becoming principal, Lisa was a teacher for 24 years. She served as a classroom, English Learner, and Gifted & Talented teacher. In 2016, she started in ISD 728 as a Curriculum Specialist on the Teaching & Learning team, providing district-level support for math, science, and Advanced & Gifted Learners.

In addition to teaching, Lisa loves to write. She’s written educational materials for teachers, students, and parents for companies such as the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Discovery Education, Carson-Dellosa Publishing, and Pearson. Dr. Willman completed her doctoral thesis on how leaders can bridge the gap between early education (Pre-K) and elementary grades within Minnesota public schools. 

Lisa welcomes families to reach out with questions, concerns, and feedback. The Zimmerman Elementary staff is here to support your child in every way possible, and to do that well, we work hard to build relationships with our students’ families.
